Clapham Date Inspiration
WC

Clapham Common South Side | SW4 7A | 020 7622 5502

The initials these days stand for Wine and Charcutarie but this underground of wonders is now a wine, cheese and cold cooked meats restaurant (or, you know..WC.

As you enter the dark cove of delight, you see that it has kept some of the original floor and wall tiles (pretty sure they scrubbed them up pretty good though…) The doors of the old toilets have been redesigned and made into tables, nothing going to waste there.

The booths are intimate if there’s a group of you, if there’s just two it is atmospheric and cosy, nothing gets the heart race going more than a good wine and a board of smelly cheese and/or meats…or is that the resting heart rate of someone who is about to die from too much cheese and wine consumption? We will leave it up to you to find out. The wine is worth it and the prices aren’t too extortionate.

No. 32

No. 32 have a breakfast menu until 11:30 which literally has everything you have ever wanted on there. Guess what? It is truly delicious (we have tried to work our way through). There’s an evening menu, weekend menu and a weekday menu, so why not take her there for a drink on Tuesday, for the weekday meal on Wednesday, then Thursday, Friday, Saturday and chill on Sunday.

Fancy tucking into a more authentic version of your home attempts at a Chicken Ginger Udon?
Check out the Pepper Tree, casual Thai dining with some fucking amazing food.

It’s also pretty reasonably priced with mains priced around £8-10. With prices like that you’ll be able to treat her to a ginger martini, a combination of ginger (surprisingly) vodka, syrup and lime juice. Unless she doesn’t like ginger, perhaps go for another one.

The Windmill
Clapham Common, South Side, SW4 9DE
0208 673 4578 | windmillhotel@youngs.co.uk

A pub and a hotel, quite an English menu, with them offering lamb rump, steak, pheasant and venison (as well as veggie options). They have a brunch, evening and Sunday menu. Lovely, classic pub grub!

Venn Street Market

The market is only open Saturdays, between 10 and 4, so don’t turn up on a Sunday expecting an array of independent stalls, they won’t be there.

Clapham Common

No address needed, you won’t miss it. It’s fucking massive. Can’t say those words pass our lips often.
Big, free and ideal for those sunny autumnal days
Pack a blanket.
Fill a hot flask like your Nan would.
Take your picnic dating game.
Bring some hand sanitiser just incase.
And maybe some tissues.
Or wet wipes.

Happy Datin’
