Christmas ting, ting, ting-a-ling, a-lings to do

Christmas ting, ting, ting-a-ling, a-lings to do….  If you were wondering what is on this festive season, we have listed below some events or places to go to get you in the mood for the run up to the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ…. or just so you can be warm and get pissed.

Natural History Museum- Ice Rink

Cromwell Road
SW7 5BD

Daily 10am-5.50pm

From £12.65

Until 7th January 2018

After you have treated your eyes by looking at a big fuck off whales skeleton above your head in the museum you can treat your legs by putting on some ice skates. Ain’t nothing more Christmassy than putting yourself outside in the cold to skate around a small patch of iced water. The setting is against  the back drop of the Natural History Museum which makes this ice rink one of the best (we think).

It gets busy so we recommend booking.

Christmas at Kew Gardens

Royal Botanic Gardens
TW9 3AB

£18.50

Until 1st January 2018

When Kanye West wrote the song ‘All of the light’, he was most likely talking about Christmas at Kew Gardens….Take a walk along a path full of greenery whilst sipping on mulled wine or cider. Find your way through the gardens by following the glow of festive coloured lights; some of which are interactive, changing colour to music.

It’s a bit different, not as busy as some places over the Christmas period and a romantic stroll for you and whoever you decide to take whilst looking in wonder at the lights around you.

Backyard Cinema

The Snow Kingdom
Mercato Metropolitano
48-50
Newington Causeway
SE1 6DR

From £17

Until the end of January

Not just your everyday film experience this place is a little different (well it is pretending to be a hidden ice kingdom). To get to the cinema screen, forget the usual boring walk from the ticket machine to the cinema screen, only passing toilets on the way, nope, you will have to cross a frozen lake and travel through caves before you get to the castle where the film will be shown. Keep cosy and warm for a few hours with their selection of films whilst sitting comfortably on a beanbag.

Roof East

Floors 7-8
Stratford multi-storey car park
Great Eastern Way
E15 1XE

Free entry

That’s right Stratfords rooftop bar is open for winter. They have a ski lodge bar, Sliders (curling) with neon lit lanes and staff to provide you with winter warm cocktails as well as a couple of cold ones if you wanna go crazy. Or just go to the Ski Lodge Bar where you can get yourself all your own drinks, including a boozy hot choc.

If Jack Frost starts nipping at your….nips then get into one of the igloos for dinner, yeah you heard right, an igloo.

Churchill Arms

119 Kensington Church Street
W8 7LN

Arguably one of the best looking pubs, with all the foliage outside this is worth a visit to get cosy. It has a lot of stuff inside too, with all the typically British memorabilia and obvs lots of Churchill shiz. Good food and decent grub (there’s a Thai kitchen inside, going along with that common fact that Churchill loved Thai food……ok maybe we made that up) you could sit in here for hours whilst the cold carried on outside.

Mint Christmas Party (for girls who like girls)

61-63 Shaftesbury Ave
W1D 6LQ

£14-£27

Mint are one of the biggest Lesbian event organisers in the UK and they’re throwing an incredible Christmas get together on 3rd Dec.
