“Jamie stayed and explored Peterborough, which has a Waitrose. He can’t resist a good Waitrose”
A Curmudgeon’s Guide to Christmas Round Robin Letters is adapted by Scott Le Crass from the book The Cat That Could Open The Fridge by Simon Hoggart.
It’s that time of year when people are showered with round robin letters that display all manner of smugness, boasting and oversharing. A lesbian married couple receive an abundance of letters from ‘friends’ and acquaintances documenting in mundane and intricate detail the year that has past.
Come and join The Hope Theatre in the wearing of ill-fitting party hats and garish Christmas jumpers while they bring to life these warm, witty and sometimes weird look at a collection of real life Christmas round robin letters. Think Mrs Merton meets Talking Heads.
Simon Hoggart was a political sketch writer, diarist and columnist for The Guardian. The production is brought to you by the Offie nominated Director of Sid and Kicked in the Sh*tter
